Digital Opportunities and Economic Cooperation in Kazakhstan
Our business trip to Kazakhstan was very inspiring. Together with 26 representatives of German businesses, we established numerous contacts and gained exciting insights into the Kazakh economy.
As IT service providers, we of course held individual meetings with local IT companies and were very surprised at how quickly good and very interesting digital solutions in the areas of emergency call reception and patient management, police operations, as well as hazard and accident management in mining are being implemented.
It was particularly exciting to see how a digital patient file is created directly during an emergency call, in accordance with data protection regulations and the Ministry of Health, and is already available to the treating physician in the hospital even before the patient arrives. We were impressed by the progress in digital healthcare.
Another highlight was of course a visit to AstanaHub in Astana. In this international technology park, 1,403 national and international IT companies with more than 25,000 employees have settled on a very modern infrastructure of approximately 22,000 square meters, with the aim of driving technological innovation in Kazakhstan.
AstanaHub is strongly supported by the government with subsidies and also by the Ministry of Digitalization and Aerospace, which is located nearby. AstanaHub is a beacon for digital innovation in Central Asia. We are thrilled by the dynamism and potential of this technology park.
In addition to the digital innovations, the trip also offered numerous opportunities for business development. Round tables with Kazakh associations, visits to companies from various industries, and participation in a construction machinery fair rounded off the program.
